Dr. Souayah is a former Professor of Neurology, Pharmacology, and Neuroscience at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he led the Neuromuscular Division and established multiple Centers of Excellence. Building on this academic foundation, he is now the President and Founding Director of the Premier Clinical and Research Neuromuscular Institute (PCRNI), doing business as Premier NeuroHealth—an internationally focused institute dedicated to advanced patient care, second opinions, translational research, and innovation in neuromuscular medicine.
Dr. Souayah has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, and has led numerous international clinical trials, particularly in myasthenia gravis (MG) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), advancing therapeutic strategies for inflammatory neuropathies. He also holds a patent for an innovative strategy designed to diagnose and treat inflammatory neuropathies, underscoring his commitment to translating scientific discovery into practical solutions for patients worldwide. In addition, he authored the first multiple-choice neurology board review textbook published by McGraw-Hill, further solidifying his role as a leading contributor to medical education and research.
